Description

World Sacred Music brings people of all beliefs and cultures together through music.

Our mission is "to promote understanding across boundaries of religion, ethnicity, language and nation by providing opportunities to experience moments of genuine transformation through sacred music and arts".

We organise events throughout the year, including a week-long Festival each October that celebrates music from a wide range of sacred traditions - African, Buddhist, Celtic, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, Native American, Sikh and more.

We support and promote local musicians and we also bring international artists from all over the world to the UK.

We aim to inspire and entertain as well as to inform and challenge. We hope to encourage understanding between people of all faiths and none and many of our events combine artists from different traditions.

In addition to our public concerts and workshops we also work in the community, particularly with schools, hospitals and prisons. We are committed to expanding our education and community programs significantly over the next three years.

The Festival is a founding member of the International Network of World Sacred Music Festivals, which includes the Fez Festival of World Sacred Music in Morocco and festivals in France, Italy, Poland and India.
